We have a wonderful team of hair stylists here in Tacoma at Benno of Germany. Each contributes their knowledge and creativity to make our hair salon one of the best in Tacoma and Pierce County.
Benno, President
Benno is the driving force of Benno of Germany, but doesn't work behind the chair anymore. He carefully selects his staff of stylists and works with his manager to provide the best service we can for our clients . . . with the latest styles and salon innovations.
Benno has been a Cosmetologist since 1974, and our salon owner since September 1980. He developed Salon Management Software in the early nineties and marketed it to many Washington Salons.
Benno also worked as a Salon Consultant for KMS for five years before changing his career to Personal Financial Analyst. He continues to own and operate Benno of Germany while furthering his career in Financial Services. He is a long-time member of Tacoma Executives Association.
Amber Burns - "I have been in the hair industry for 5 years now and wouldn't have it any other way, I have always had strong feelings for it since the day I could pick up a comb. I graduated for Gene Juarez Academy in Federal Way to follow my passion for luxurious hair. I found Benno of Germany and immediately applied. I have been here several months and love it! Marco, Carmen, and Angelina are amazing to work with. We all love to laugh and make people feel good about the way they look. I am currently working here at the salon and as an Assistant Manager at Galaxy Uptown in Gig Harbor, its all about the customer service. I am also a big time movie buff!
Being a stylist I find it necessary to always continue education to keep up on the latest trends and styles. I am newer to the
Goldwell and KMS products but have come to love the way they leave the hair, healthy, shiny, alive and in excellent condition. The
results with the colors are amazing and the styling products are very pliable, have a great hold and great overall result.
I have always been a strong believer that there is nothing I cannot do. Sometimes it may take a couple visits to get the desired result but it can be done! And I have a passion for amazing hair. Some things I really enjoy and specialize in are foiling, color and a cut that will help to compliment your face shape and color that will leave the hair with a lot of body and movement. I have done many relaxers and can work magic with a flat iron and a comb. I will work with my creativity to find a style that will best suit your needs."
Angelina Angel - "I am a responsible outgoing person which I believe is reflected in my work ethic. I chose this career because I am a people person and love meeting new people. I love what I do and have fun doing it!
My passion for hair design keeps me up to date on the latest trends in the industry. I enjoy creating natural looking highlights as well as bold and dramatic colors. My goal is to give you a look that compliments your life style as well as brings out your best facial features. I listen to my clients to find exactly what it is they want. I am very pleased to be a part of Benno of Germany Hair Salon and continue to grow with such a talented team.

Marco Garcia, Manager/Stylist - "I have been working as a hair stylist for the past 19 years. How I got started in the hair business was somewhat of a fluke. I was deciding what was the next step in life to take and started looking through the local college books. I stumbled across a course in hairstyling. Once I decided to take the course I put all of my energy into making it a career.
After I graduated I apprenticed with a downtown salon, sharpened my skills and got hired by Benno of Germany. I chose to apply at Benno of Germany after a friend referred me here. It was a small, friendly Salon and everyone knew all the clients' names. I have been employed at Benno's for the past 16 years. Through all of those years I have had the opportunity to grow as a stylist and an individual who can give back to the community through the joy of doing hair. Serving my clients has been very rewarding. If we can do one thing in this life it is to make people happy. I have found that by working with long standing, loyal clients.
Under the supervision of Benno's I have gained a vast amount of continuing education.
I have been an educator with Professional Salon Services teaching other salons in this area and their stylists how to use KMS products properly. I have attended countless ongoing education classes, especially from Goldwell, and have attended at least 14 regional, national, and international Hairshows, the most recent one "Trend Zoom 2010" in Last Vegas in October 2009.
I feel fortunate to have turned my choice of work into an actually longstanding, fulfilling career.

Carmen Vegas - "I knew early on the hair industry was my calling! To put a smile on someone's face is the most rewarding feeling imaginable.
After attending Clover Park Technical College I immediately started my internship at Benno of Germany. While interning with Marco I took classes weekly to continue my education. After my internship I was ecstatic to hear they were offering me employment. I feel so fortunate for the opportunities I have been able to experience including Trend Zoom 2010 in Las Vegas, Nevada in October 2009. Although I have only been doing hair for a few years I know this will be my future. Thank you for all who support me and future clients that await."
